DREAMING IN COLOR

It has been said that every artist dips his brush into his own soul and paints his own nature into his pictures.  Art is soul to soul communication.  A private tweet to the heart for all who take the time to look.

Basic human emotions provide the palette, the colors are the medium.  The canvas obligingly binds the two together.   It is easier by far to use the dreamtime to sketch out a new piece.  Paint goes farther there; in the photoshop of our consciousness.  The challenge is saving the image.

I keep a sketch pad and pencil on the nightstand.  Morning becomes a wonderful time of remembrance and discovery of gifts given in the night.  For me a painting is a dream come true.
